The ORGANIZING FOR JUSTICE conference:

October 15-18, Thursday-Sunday

The conference aims to bring people together towards social, economic and
environmental justice and healthy communities. We aim to facilitate the
development of strategy and vision, skills and tools, and relationships
and networks.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Grassroots Responses to the
Economic and Environmental Crises'.

Thurs October 15 – English:

    * 6:30pm: Keynote panel discussion, at Ottawa Public Library main
branch auditorium (120 Metcalfe at Laurier)

Fri October 16 – English:

    * 7:00pm: Performances / Arts night and social – music and theatre,
spoken word, at Atomic Rooster bar (303 Bank St, between McLeod and
Somerset)

Sat October 17 – English:

    * 10:00am-6:00pm: Book-fair/Info-fair, and multiple
workshops/sessions, at 440 Albert St (note – the workshops will happen
in four time slots, at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30; the book/info-fair
will be all day), at 440 Albert St (the old Ottawa Technical High
School, just east of Bronson)
    * 6:00-8:00pm: Community dinner, at 440 Albert St

Sat October 17 – Francais:

    * 19:00: Table ronde [panel] au le Dépanneur Sylvestre, 9 Fortier, au
coin de Sherbrooke, près de St-Joseph, Gatineau

Sun October 18 – Francais:

    * 10:30-16:30: Ateliers [workshops] (notez – session(s) 1:
10:30-12:00; manger 12:00-13:00; session(s) 2: 13:00-14:30; session(s)
3: 15:00-16:30)  au UQO, Pavillon Lucien-Brault, 101 rue Saint Jean
Bosco, Gatineau



There will be panels and workshops (both in English and French) as well as
a music/theatre/spoken word social event, a book/info-fair, and a
community dinner.

- All venues are wheelchair accessible.
- We plan to provide childcare. Please contact us if you require childcare.

featuring live music, theatre, spoken word and perhaps more

> FULL DAY OF WORKSHOPS/SESSIONS & BOOK/INFO-FAIR
featuring 12 workshops divided into four time slots, and tabling by
vendors and local groups/organizations ... followed by community dinner at
6:00pm

- flyering (at events and/or drop-off at various locations)
- translation into French
- French logistics and planning
- various logistics duties (coordinating billeting, food, childcare, or
venue/equipment)

<DURING DAYS OF CONFERENCE>
- providing billeting for out-of-town guests
- general help at each event (welcoming, setup, cleanup)
- providing childcare
- food preparation and/or serving
- introducing sessions
- taking notes during sessions
- video recording sessions

La conférence ORGANISONS-NOUS POUR LA JUSTICE approche à grands pas!!!

15-18 Octobre, jeudi-dimanche

L'objectif de la conférence est de rassembler les gens vers la justice
sociale, économique et environnementale, et des communautés en santé. Nous
visons à faciliter le développement de stratégies et d'une vision, le
développement de nos habiletés et outils, de nos relations et de nos
réseaux.

Le thème de la conférence cette année est: “Réponses communautaires aux
crises économiques et environnementales.”

Il y aura une table ronde et des ateliers (en français et en anglais),
ainsi que de la musique, du théâtre, du slam, etc.
