Ending the Whitewash of Genocide in Canada -
This April 15, on the Fifth National Aboriginal Holocaust Memorial Day, we
call for:
- a boycott of the government's fraudulent "Truth and Reconciliation
Commission"
- the expulsion of the Catholic, Anglican and United churches from
indigenous lands
- the arrest and trial of those responsible for the residential school
crimes in indigenous courts of law
- the convening of an international war Crimes Tribunal into Genocide in
Canada
Two years have elapsed since the national press in Canada reported that
more than half the children in church-run residential schools died there.
(Globe and Mail, April 24, 2007)
Two years have elapsed since the government promised an investigation into
the missing residential school children.
Two years later, nothing has been done: no disclosure, no investigation,
no justice for the residential school survivors who continue to die in
droves.
The churches and government who killed off thousands of native children
have proven that they will never tell the truth or surrender themselves to
justice. It is up to us.
It was our protests and sit-ins at government and church offices that
forced the issue of our homegrown genocide into the limelight, and made
the world sit up and notice. Last month, Canada and its churches were
condemned in the United Nations' human rights councils for its genocide of
native people.
This April 15, we will continue this movement. We call on people to occupy
church and government offices - Hold local inquiries into the residential
schools, bring home the childrens' remains, and publicly name the
criminals - Extend our call to the world to boycott both the 2010 Olympics
in B.C. and Canadian trade and goods.
We ask our local supporters to commemorate the missing residential school
children this Wednesday, April 15 at 12 noon outside (and inside) the
headquarters of the Catholic, Anglican and United churches, and of the
federal government, in your communities.
In Vancouver, our network will gather on April 15 at 12 noon outside
"Christ Church Cathedral" at the corner of Georgia and Burrard streets.
Make justice happen in our time. In memory of the living and the dead.

The very lands we all along enjoyed
they ravished from the people they destroyed ...
All the long pretenses of descent
are shams of right to prop up government.
' Tis all invasion, usurpation all;
' Tis all by fraud and force that we possess,
and length of time can make no crime the less;
Religion's always on the strongest side.
Daniel Defoe, Jure Divino (England, 1706)
