What are the issues facing Aboriginal people in the campaign? Are Canada's
political parties ready to take Aboriginal issues seriously? What are their
priorities when it comes to Aboriginal issues? Which parties are willing to
commit to resolving land claims and enter resource sharing agreements? Which
party leader will invest resources to fulfill the government's treaty and
fiduciary duties to Aboriginal peoples? What should be at the top of the
agenda of Canada's next government?

APTN viewers can find out what the candidates have to say about these and
other issues, when Contact brings Aboriginal candidates to viewers and
viewers' questions to the candidates. The candidates will face off in a
debate in APTN's Winnipeg studios. Then we'll take calls and hear what our
audience has to say as Contact's panel of experts analyzes the issues and
the candidates during this special Aboriginal candidates' debate.

"This is a unique opportunity for viewers to find out what Canada's
political parties have to say about Aboriginal issues. I'm looking forward
to the level of debate being kicked up a notch because for the first time
we'll hear what the First Peoples National Party of Canada would do to shake
things up in Ottawa,' said Contact host Cheryl McKenzie.

This special 90-minute show is being broadcast LIVE from APTN headquarters
in Winnipeg. It airs Wednesday, October 8 at 9 pm ET.
