hey folks,

how do we feel about a meeting?

i can think of some agenda items:
-IPSMO movie night (supposed to be 17th)??
-Rock Against Harper request (details below)
-Immediate request about Volunteer training - Tom Keefer workshop (details
below)
-Events/Programming (there are many, what do we want to help out with?)
-Jim Harding event, IPSMO presence
-other shit to do

i'm not availble after 5pm. so days/afternoons are really good. although
nights are all that we can do, that's life.
what are people thinking??? does anyone feel particularly confident about
calling a meeting date/time? if so, i would encourage you to do so!

Rock Against Harper request:
RAH is being re-released by EXILE PRESS. it is a 27 (or) song CD (mostly
punk rawk) with a zine. all canuck bands, it's distro'd across the freakin
country and i believe a couple go to the US. the proceeds go to CHAN -
Canada-HAITI Action Committee, RAWA - revo afghanistan womyn association,
and the NYM - native youth movement.
the CD will be staying the same but the ZINE is being re-issued. the RAH
folks have asked us if we would like to submit a contribution under the
IPSMO byline. what do we think?

Immediate request about Volunteer training - Tom Keefer workshop:
TK is coming to show some of his caledonia video's for the Books to
Prisoners working group movie night, jan. 31st. i've asked him if he wants
to do a workshop on settler solidarity for the OPIRG volunteer training on
saturday feb.2nd. however, i fucked up and offered him an honorarium and
it turns out OPIRG no longer does honorariums!!?! so i would really like
IPSMO, as a working group, would request this workshop - and that OPIRG
pay a 150$ honorarium - to the OPIRG board. they have a meeting on
thursday. so if we want to do this i think everyone (or, since i have no
idea what "everyone" on this list actually means, a lot of folks) needs to
give an e-twinkle, ASAP. if that happens, i can send a letter on behalf
of IPSMO for the workshop. SO PLEASE e-twinkle if you think that's great.
i will send a letter as a volunteer, and i can mention that others in the
group feel it's a good idea but we have not discussed it formally. just
the fuckin emailer.

oh yes, and here is tom's article in Upping the Anti on the politics of
solidarity:
