hey folks - this comes from a friend of mine - is anyone around that would
feel comfortable speaking at this event? i've sent her a few names already,
her email is "Sheila Grantham" <sheila_grantham at hotmail.com>

Hello,

Carleton is hosting the Canadian Anthropological Society Conference on May
7-10 and would like someone to speak about the uranium drilling near Sharbot
Lake.
We would like to organize a session on the Algonquin land issue -- since
Ottawa is on Algonquin land and most people in Canada (including people
coming to the conference) are not aware of this.
It would be great if we could contact some speakers to participate in a
session -- perhaps Thursday morning (or afternoon) that would discuss the
ongoing- land issue historically, politically, legally and/or personally. If
your group could speak about this issue or could refer me to someone who can
I would greatly appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from you.
