YOU ARE INVITED
to participate in an
INTRODUCTION TO DECOLONIZATION &
INDIGENOUS SOLIDARITY TEACH-IN
Wednesday April 2nd
6pm until 9pm
Univeristy Centre Room 205
UOttawa Campus
(coffee & snacks at 5:30pm)
The night will begin with coffee/tea/biscuits.
At 6pm the opening ceremony will commence.
Following this, Claudette Commanda will introduce
participants to Decolonization in a 45 minute talk,
followed by a 20 minute question period.
The remaining two hours will be devoted to a participatory teach-in
whereby participants will be given tools for solidarity activism, as
well as an opportunity to become more familiar with decolonization
struggles in the Ottawa Valley & surrounding areas.
Participants will break out into groups to discuss three themes:
Patriarchy & Colonization, Environmental Racism, & settler-allies and
solidarity work
The goal of the teach-in is two-fold; to connect participants with
information & to provide outlets for further action.
