Hey, what about the Algonquin people in Quebec who are fighting for their land, and right to live on their traditional territory, just last week, they were forceably removed from their home by the Surete Police of Quebec. Of course, no one has heard of this tragedy because media (and supporters) choose which stories are warranted coverage. How about organizing an awareness for the Algonquin people who have suffered many injustices, there is much more to the plight and struggles of Algonquin people, our struggles have been in the making long before the environmental issues raised by Sharbot Lake and Ardoch townships. How about walking for the Algonquin? What about solidarity for Six Nations, our Mohawk brothers and sisters. Why not walk for them too?

Subject: March in Support of Ardoch and Shabot First Nations
To All
The Walk for Economic Justice in Support of the Ardoch and Shabot First Nations has now expanded. Tonight a request was brought from the chiefs of Ardoch and Shabot to ask the African organizers of the walk if they could shift the dates of the walk. I was in planning with them all day and have just confirmed that they are ok with the change in the dates. What the request was is that the walkers would walk from Toronto to Peterborough and then to the site of the blockade. Then they would join members of the Ardoch and Shabot First Nations on a seven day canoe trip that would arrive at Victoria Island on September 27. Meanwhile communities in Perth, Carleton Place Ottawa and elsewhere could mobilize their own walks to arrive at Victoria Island the same time as the canoes. We would then portage the canoes up to Parliament Hill (even thought it won't be sitting this image will be very effective).
On the evening of September 27 there will be an event at either Victoria Island or the Odawa Native Frienship Centre. On September 28 there will be an all day forum

We are looking for a place in Ottawa that could be used for storage for collecting goods to be taken up to the Ardoch site.
If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.
Also if anybody is organizing or knows of any events happening between now and September 27 in Toronto, Peterbrough, Perth, Carleton Place, Montreal, Ottawa and communities in between please email tehm to me so I can make a complete Calendar of Events so that we can mobilize as many communities as possible.
