Hey Working group Members!

Its September again, the beginning of a new school year and there are some
important items to discuss:

1)Wednesday Weekly Info
2) Info Fair
3) Fall training
4)Movie Nights

these items will require you to get back to me! Read below for more info.

1) Wednesday Weekly Info (need reply)
Each Wednesday I send out the Wednesday Weekly which includes info about
each working group. Please check the mail out to make sure your group's
contact is there and correct, that the description is one you want, and be
sure to send me next meeting details, upcoming events and so on to include.
It is desirable that I receive info on Tuesday before 2pm.

2)Info Fair- response needed
Hopefully you remember last year's info fair. This fair features OPIRG
working groups and projects. It allows people to stop by over two days and
get to talk with working group members, view materials and sign up to get
more involved. Last year we held this in the atrium leading up to our
training: tools for change. This is slighlty complicated this year because
of the strike. If the strike is over we will try to hold the info fair in
the Atrium. If not we were thinking of holding it near the picket lines at
Bronson and Sunnyside.
The proposed date for the fair is September 27th and 28th, or October 11th
and 12th,
Working groups would be asked to have a display and be available to talk
with people from about 10am-4pm and 10am-1pm on the friday.

Please let me know your preferred date, availability, and what you think
about potentially being at the picket lines.

3) Tools for Change- Annual Fall Training- response needed

The proposal is to have tthe training on campus in Tory (in rooms next to
each other on the tunnel level) or if there is still a strike to have the
training at Jack Purcell Community Centre.

Other discussed trainings: web site maintanance (very OPIRG specific, for
working group members who are working on web site)
Know Your Rights
Media Messaging
Effective Posters

What do you think? Are there trainings that you want to receive or give? let
me know in the next couple of days if there are! Also please indicate your
preferred date.

4) Movie Nights - need response
OPIRG has included monthly move nights as part of its annual programming. We
are asking working groups to take on organizing at least one film each
school year as part of these monthly movie nights. Animal Rights has signed
up for September. All other months are free. We are priotizing October,
November, January, Febraury and March before filling December, April or
summer month slots. Let me know what month you want to take and if you've
picked a film and we'll go from there.
