Greetings, I am glad that you as well as others are very concern about the
environmental issues impacting the people living in Ardoch and Sharbot Lake,
issues as such have a detrimental impact on all people, we need to protect
our Mother, the Earth, the land who embraces us, and provides for us,
without her, there is no life, as *my grandfather*, William Commanda,
strongly and passionately voices in all his messages. My grandfather never
says no to anyone or any group, he always makes himself available to lead
ceremony and blessings for strength, courage and protection such as the
ceremony for the canoe travellers who will make their way to protest the
uranium mining. The protection and safety of Mother Earth is the
responsibility of all people, and any group or peoples that fight to protect
her deserve support. I commend those who stand strong to protect the land,
in the wise words of my heroes, *Geronimo* "*What has happened to the land,
to the water, to the air, will also happen to mankind*", and *Sitting Bull*"
*whatever you do to the earth, you do to your children"* - their words
resonate with truth. The time has come to put an end to the EXPLOITATION of
Indian land, Indian people and Indian rights - enough is enough.
Keep up the good work in standing strong for your people and in giving
support for all our brothers and sisters on this great land, Turtle Island.
Take care.
In spirit and friendship,
Claudette Commanda
