[Indigsol] Stop Racism towards Aboriginals in Australia

Hey everyone

I got asked today by a Native friend to help her organize a
protest/rally/thing at the Australian Embassy (World Exchange Plaza, site of
the Mexican embassy too...) for Noon on Friday.

I know this is a really last minute event but I was hoping you'd be
interested in helping.

Basically we need to get the message out far and wide. We need some help
getting media there. Need to invite whoever will support it - ie unions,
other support groups (like Friends of Burma?), some Native groups (AFN,
Minwaashin Lodge, NWAC, Odawa), KAIROS, the raging grannies, etc, and
others? We need some sort of audio set up - even just a megaphone. We need a
poster, even just simple, for a few of these groups to post. Some placards
made. An info flyer. An email to go out. Yakno, the basics.

The idea is have a few speeches, pass out flyers, maybe letters to send to
the embassy, collect names on a petition, then go up to the Australian
embassy and deliver it. More or less.

This is organized in solidarity with marches taking place in New Zealand and
Australia by the Aboriginals and Maori there, which will be on Friday and
Saturday. Apparently there is not really anything else going on in Canada.
My friend is in contact with some people in New Zealand.

So I guess I'm asking, who would be willing to help out, how?
