Stop the Flows – No Line 9 Reversal!
Confronting the Tar Sands in Hamilton

Thursday September 27

Across the contient, communities are struggling to stop the flow of
Tar Sands oil through their lands. Opposition to the Keystone XL and
Northern Gateway pipelines is denying the Tar Sands a route to the
south or west, keeping the oil landlocked in Alberta. Now, Enbridge is
seeking to reverse their Line 9 pipeline through Southern Ontario to
create an eastern path for it.

Tar Sands oil is the dirtiest oil in the world, and the extraction of
it is fueling catastrophic climate change while poisoning the
communities around it. We all have an interest in keeping this oil in
the ground and away from our homes.

Join us for a forum and discussion about Enbridge's reversal of the
Line 9 oil pipeline.  Speakers will describe:
The growing continental movement to stop the lfow of Tar Sands oil
Enbridge's refusal to consult with the Haudenosaunee and other First
Nations as treaty law requires
The threat to our local watershed, especially the Beverly Swamp, a
provincially-significant wetland at the headwaters of the Spencer
Creek.

This is a free event, though donations to cover costs will be
accepted. The First Unitarian Church is accessible for mobility
devices. This is a kid friendly event, and childcare will be
available. Light food and drink provided.
