Hey folks,
3 things to update you all on.
1) *TOMORROW* is our *"Time Management for Creative Folks" workshop* from
6-9pm at Beasley Park (Wilson St. & Mary St.). Free Skool would like to
apologize for the last minute venue change.
Description from the Facilitator: *"In this time management workshop, I'd
like to offer a mixture of information and activities. We're going to
figure out what everyone wants, do some damage control on that pile of
dirty laundry that keeps threatening to knock you out, organize some of
your projects, and finally, tackle the demon that is procrastination (more
on that later...). There will be some artsy things (like a vision board
sketch!), some discussion things, and some independent things. Come
prepared with your ideas!"*
2) *NEW CLASSES*
- *Politics & Popular Fiction Book Club* - Starts July 2nd (7-8:30pm,
4th floor, Hamilton Public Library, Central Branch)
Description: *If you have ever found yourself totally engrossed in a
good book, and asked yourself the question “what statement about the world
is this author making?” then this is the book club for you! We will be
reading and discussing works of fiction that have something to say.*
- *Empowerment Circles* - Returns July 9th & July 16th (7-8:45pm,
Corktown HARRRP, 187 James St. S)
Description: *To address burnout and facilitate positive mental health,
Hamilton Freeskool is offering a weekly space to acknowledge what deeply
matters to each of us and to explore ways to sustain ourselves for the long
haul. To empower each other in our collective efforts for social change and
environmental justice, we’ll draw upon tools from the Nonviolent
Communication process.
At each session participants will provide empathetic listening to each
other on real issues. We’ll practice naming feelings, needs and requests in
situations that matter to you – such as activist meetings, engaging with
opponents, or speaking with friends and family. Participants will serve as
resources to each other – sharing skills they’ve learned on self-care and
community building. This will also be an opportunity to be with like-minded
folks.
Feel free to drop in on some or all of the 6 sessions. All are welcome!
We aim to make this a safe and accessible space, so please let us know how
we could accommodate you.*
3) *FINISHED CLASSES FOR THE TERM*
The following classes have ended for the Spring & Summer Terms. We hope to
have them again in the Fall. We'll keep you all posted!
- *Qi-Gong For Healing*
- *Free Flow (Formerly Flow Circus)*

"If modern industrial education—and more broadly industrial
civilization—requires "the subsumption of the individual," that is, the
conversion of vibrant human beings into "automata," i.e., into a pliant
workforce, then the most revolutionary thing we can do is follow our
hearts, to manifest who we really are."
