Hey FreeSkool Facilitators!
I am planning to come to Hamilton next week and was wondering if I can meet
with one, some or all of you to discuss the possibilities for collaboration.
I'm currently interning with a kick ass organization called "Interchange"
which works to promote a Culture of Peace in Toronto. Interchange is
involved with a number of things including a series of workshops on peace
that we facilitate for high school students in Toronto. I am currently
working to adopt these for elementary schools in the area. We also offer one
time 3 hour workshops on anything related to peace. Having been involved
with Free Skool (helped to co-found it years ago), I know that the course
facilitators are extremely skilled and offer excellent classes throughout
the Hamilton community. Given that these 'guides' put a lot of time and
energy into developing their classes, I thought I could entice some of these
facilitators to offer a condensed version of their class either here in
Toronto or in Hamilton. This way, their work could extend into another city
and reach a wider audience. We could be responsible for publicity and
finding a venue and ideally, offer some sort of financial compensation for
their 'work'. Alternatively, or in addition, we could publicize your
workshops through our list serves and website -
www.interchange4peace.org/ You're welcome to check it out!
There is a formal call out for workshop facilitators, but at this point, I
only have the hard copy version. When I get access to the file, I would be
happy to send it your way. What do you think? Is this something you would
be interested in?
Thanks for your time. I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you,
for all the important work you're doing!
In peace,
aly
