Shared Perspective Dates Message-ID: Hey learning people, *Three Shared Perspectives talks are scheduled for the upcoming weeks*! Monday, August 22nd at 7pm at the Sky Dragon, Saturday, August 27 at 2pm at the Intolerant Gallery, Monday, September 12 at 7pm at the Sky Dragon These talks have been great opportunities to listen and engage, and turn around ideas in a willing, diverse and interesting group of people, every time, and have been very well received. Don't miss what's coming up! Please keep yourselves apprised on the website at hamiltonfreeskool.org/sharedperspectives. For those who (is it possible?) are still not sure, the spirit of the Shared Perspectives series of talks is that all people, at all points in life, have a perspective of value to share - that we lose out, big time, by marginalising people of one age or another, young or old, and that there is a great deal to gain by participating in dialogues across the years. Each talk features someone offering their answers to the questions of what they think of this concept, what they have themselves have learned, what it is like to be where they are at, and what, if given the chance, would they want to share, given what their perspective affords them. Any questions, to suggest a talk (by yourself or by someone we should approach) or for more information, please feel free to email hamiltonfreeskool at gmail.org, or rache.nolan at gmail.org. *On to the schedule of events!* At 27 King William, at the Sky Dragon Centre (which is closed for renovations but open for...Hamilton Freeskool!) on August 22nd at 7pm we have a really cool event featuring, in fact, TWO perspectives: *from mother and daughter*. *Diane and Keisha* (yes, that's *the* Keisha Neoma-Quinn) will interview each other on what it was like growing up, what they learn from each other, and more. Don't miss this one, it is sure to be a rare and interesting event. The following Saturday at 2pm, we use *Art as Perspective - Dawn at the Intolerant Gallery on King Street (239 King Street East, across from Ferguson Station) will be facilitating a conversation about control in relationships, using an art exhibition including original works on the subject. Listening/participating in this dialogue is sure to be thought provoking, and is part of an important topic for discussion and awareness in our community as in every community. Addictive, co-dependent and abusive paradigms, as well as healthy ones, will be discussed, and beautiful art will be shared.* We are very lucky to have the very learned speaker *George Sorge*r featured on Monday, September 12 at 7pm at the Sky Dragon. George has swaths of knowledge and experience relating to South American history, as well as South American-Canadian history - he will be speaking on *the colonialist legacies and the importance of a historical perspective*, as well as adding his own 73 years of life experiences into the mix. Definitely come out for this educational and interesting dialogue. Stay tuned for additions to the schedule for this Freeskool series, and please feel very invited to get in touch with questions or ideas. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
