Hey Freeskoolers!
As Spring and other transformative things percolate through the air, things
are quickly picking up towards our upcoming event, the Hamilton Freeskool
Spring Réveille this March 27th!
The event will be beginning with lunch at one o'clock at the Jamesville
Community Centre, which is on McNab St North at Colbourne. You are more than
welcome to bring food to share, but also more than welcome to come with
little else but a smile and an appetite.
Workshops are set to begin after lunch, at 2:30
PM. Each is between a half hour and an hour long. We'll begin wiiiiith:
Introduction to Poi/Skillshare, facilitated by Allison,
followed by a Support Skillshare facilitated by Aerin,
Law/ Workplace Rights discussion facilitated by Ned,
and a hands-on Terrariums workshop by Maggie beginning around 5:00 PM.
This is a good way to introduce people to Freeskool and what we're all
about, so pass the word out to the people you know, help our base of
Freeskool fans to grow so everyone gets to meet new people and learn more
things!
Other items of note:
*BICYCLES! *
Don't you just seriously love them?
If you're interested in participating in Freeskool-spirited bike adventures
to discover or rediscover or explore anew some of the many wonderful
wonderful trails and spots in our fair city, beginning around the beginning
of next month, you definitely should get in touch with Maggie at
magdalena_szkarlat at hotmail.com.
Finally, if you are interested in helping with postering/publicity for the
Spring Réveille, send us an email and we will welcome your assistance
See you in two weeks!
Rachel, for Freeskool

"If modern industrial education—and more broadly industrial
civilization—requires "the subsumption of the individual," that is, the
conversion of vibrant human beings into "automata," i.e., into a pliant
workforce, then the most revolutionary thing we can do is follow our hearts,
to manifest who we really are."
