[GSA Council] URGENT: Fwd: Online voting for upcoming health insurance

Hi all,

The motion as drafted by the executives in the original email is copied
below. I have added one sentence to clarify the increased cost of the
mental health benefits, highlighted in yellow. This is what I move. Boshra,
can you (or another director!) second it again?

Directors, please submit your vote by tomorrow so we reach the deadline of
our mandate. As Rouzbeh noted, all directors have to reply by *For*,
*Against* or *Abstain *to have it adopted. Regarding Article V, point 12 of
bylaws.

Whereas the GSA runs and operates a Health and Dental Plan program for its
membership,

Whereas the Health and Dental Plan is the most utilized service that the
GSA provides with about 2,500 members enrolled on a yearly basis, both
international students and Canadians,

Whereas the GSA has been subsidizing the costs of the Plan for the last two
years with Health and Dental Plan Fee surpluses collected in years prior,
and no such surplus is remaining,

Whereas the GSA has a mandate to overview Plan benefits design and care for
their membership,

Whereas the GSA is one of the last student unions with no Mental Health
insurance coverage,

BIRT that the GSA includes Mental Health benefits at a rate of up to 50%
coverage per session with a $500 per year Maximum in its Health and Dental
Plan for the 2019-2020 academic/policy. This inclusion will account for
$23.19 of the increased cost to the plan.
BIRT that the GSA adjusts its Health & Dental Plan Fee Cap from the current
$306.62 to $370.00 to account for the above benefit change as well as
increases in the cost of the claims paid out.
