Subject: Resignation from the position of GSA Executive Team – President



Please consider this as the one month - formal notice of Resignation from
the position of GSA Executive Team – President. My last working day at GSA
shall be 10 Aug 2019.


When I was elected to the esteemed position, I had a lot of plans, ideas
and energy. I had shared some of those plans and the executive team’s
agenda to the council in the first council meeting in June 2019. However,
it is really sad to see that the council has created a very hostile and
obstructive work environment, especially due to the rude and disrespectful
behavior of certain council members.


In spite of all this and without a proper handover from the outgoing team,
the executive team was able to work professionally and make the GSA
function at an optimum level with activities including but not limited to
aid the council elect a council chair, guide the council in the creation
of important committees, start serious negotiations with the CSSE
departments regarding students’ critical issues such as PCT/departmental
policies, organize french classes,  improve the learning process of the
french classes, organize a trip to Mont Tremblant, organize a yoga event and
collaborate with other associations like CSU/ECSGA … etc. The executive
team would have continued to do a lot more if the council was supportive.
This kind of hostile and obstructive work environment has
negatively affected my health, personal life and academics.


I wish I could say it was a pleasure to serve the graduate student
community at Concordia. I could have served the graduate student community
at Concordia much better if the council was supportive and collaborative in
our efforts to further the collective interests of graduate students at
Concordia University.
