Hello all,
I may be a bit late on this, as I have been trying to understand the details of a current case of psychological harassment that has been filed. After having talked, on multiple occasions, to the Tribunal Administratif du Travail, they informed me that the case is, in fact, from Alex against the GSA as a whole. To this case I have been designated the representative person as well as a person of interest. However, I cannot be the representative because it is not my job. I am not the spokesperson of the GSA.
I know I am late in sending this, but I wanted to be 100% certain of my information, as I do not want to be sending anything misleading or false. The Tribunal Administratif du Travail has repeatedly asked me to tell them who the person responsible for human relations is, but I have no idea who should be responsible for this. For the moment, it appears that I am stuck as the person representing the party involved (the GSA), that is why I consider it my obligation to inform you of the audience.
I do not mean to stress anyone. Originally, I thought the audience concerned me and Alex only. However, after talking to the Tribunal over and over, they have repeatedly informed me that it concerns the association and Alex, and not me as an individual.
I have informed them that I am not an employee of the GSA, and they have asked me to have someone contact them. The problem is that the Tribunal Administratif du Travail is also unclear on how to proceed in this case. The details of the case are very fuzzy for everyone. I have done my duty of learning as much as I could, and of informing you of the case. However, and despite sounding repetitive, I need to make it clear that I am not a representative of the GSA, and I am not the HR manager of the GSA, and I am not responsible for representing the GSA as a whole.
What I ask from you is simple: the council and executive members need to discuss how they want to proceed with this case, and at this point, any and all input is valuable, because I am at a loss as to how to continue dealing with this case.
I would like to state that this case does not affect individuals, and any legal repercussions that may arise from this are going to be on the GSA (as an employer) only.
Once again, I cannot be a representative of the GSA, as I am not even an employee, and the scope of my job is very limited. Furthermore, I also cannot deal with this case on either legal, professional, or personal level. I have already spent a lot of time and money dealing with lawyers, and trying to figure out what is going on, only to be informed it is the association that is involved.
If you want more information (or wish to verify the information I provided), please do not hesitate to contact the person responsible for the case, madame Suzie Vallieres, Tel. 514 864 7442 <tel:514%20864%207442>, case # CM-2016-0357. Please, before discrediting me, or saying I am trying to stir up problems, or even saying I am at false here, contact Madame Vallieres, and get the details from her. After having talked to them for a long time, their recommendation was for any person of authority (executive/director) to show up for the case on May 25th. Whether or not you want to hire lawyers is up to you.
Please, I hope no one misinterprets my actions. I am not trying to create extra tension in this association, and it would have been better if none of this was happening at all. As you may infer from above though, this situation is happening regardless, and it is beyond my control. I also know it is easy to just let things be, look away, and not get involved, but a decision has to be made. I truly believe that everyone in the GSA only wants what is best for our members, and I hope for a quick and amicable solution to this.
Regards,
Ribal Abi Raad
