[GSA Council] GSA 2016/2017 1st Council Meeting Call-out

Hello Councillors!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Summer. We, at the GSA, are looking
forward to working with you to further the association's vision in
promoting and improving the graduate students interests and welfare.

Please be advised that we are having our first council meeting on *Monday,
June 13, starting at 5:00 pm and will last no longer than 7:00 pm*. This
meeting will be a great opportunity for all the members to get know one
another and get familiarized with the general procedures that will be
required during our regular meetings. The agenda for this meeting will be
sent in the next 2 days for your kind review.

the best quality, however, it is short enough to give you a rough idea of
what to expect in council meetings.

If for whatever reason you are unable to attend the meeting, please ensure
to send me your regrets/apologies as required by *Article XVII* of the GSA
bylaws.

*Article XVII *

1. An executive may be dismissed by the council in the event of two (2)
unaccounted absences from executive or council meetings.

2. A director may be dismissed by the council in the event of two (2)
unaccounted absences from council meetings.

3. Work commitments, scheduled course commitments, illness, bereavement or
emergency are valid reasons for absence but the council may request
documentation in all cases.
