ECOLE: Demystifying finances
Tuesday Jan 20 6-7:30 PM
Do you find yourself day-dreaming the moment there is talk of finance in a
meeting? Have you ever wondered what was going on with those obscure excel
sheets filled with numbers? Are financial concerns preventing you from
starting a new project? "Demystifying Finances" is a workshop designed to
demystify finances for community organizers and informal collectives. In
this workshop, we will discuss and learn some hands-on skills related to
fundraising, budgeting, and keeping track of finances. We will also have
conversations about money - why is there so much shame and embarrassment
about money? Why do so many of us feel scared while managing money/think
that finance is boring? Finally, we will do a couple of fun (yes, we said
it!) financial exercises!

This workshop will be facilitated by Kama Maureemootoo, long-time community
organizer and current Finance and Administrative Coordinator at
QPIRG-McGill.
