Here are my two cents, I personally have no clue what could we possibly hope to accomplish by inventing a conflict..
It maynot be the way we function but it is the way we should function according to the bylaws..
Anyway, I think it would be a good opportunity to voice concerns and find areas to collaborate on. 
Lobbying the university pretty much is our core mandate in my mind. We should act within that context.

Hey, It's quite common for most Concordia internal committees to schedule meetings months in advance. I would agree with Jon that that isn't how GSA typically works but it might be good to try and schedule the next month's meeting in advance to accommodate the President. While I feel that his direction could be better, maintaining good relations with the head of Concordia is a good thing. Besides, I'm sure the other councilors wouldn't mind meeting him.
