Hi all,So the senate meeting on Feb 13th will be my last senate before I leave and after that my seat will vacate. please consider this as my resignation from senate and GSA council effective February 14th.
I would like to propose that the person who got 4th place in the last senate election in which I was elected be appointed to replace me.Due to the importance of senate as the highest academic governing body in the university and the urgency imposed by the fact that the university has initiated a 3-4 months process to formulate the strategic plan that steers the university for the next 5-10 years, I think the following motion that be the first thing on the agenda of next council on Feb 16th.
"Whereas current senator, Keroles Riad, is out of the country for four months and has consequently resigned his senate seat and GSA council seat.BIRT GSA council accepts Keroles's resignation.BIFRT The candidate next in line according to the most recent senate elections, Isabelle Johnston, be appointed as a senator to replace Keroles."
I hope some one would move this motion in my absence. Other committees I am on are not as frequent and I would like to be able to keep them. I will make sure that regrets are appropriately sent, or that someone sits in for me for important ones.
Gretchen could you please e_mail me back to confirm that this will be on the agenda for Feb 16th council?
ThanksKero
