[GSA Council] Aug 18: Council Packet

Hello,Just a heads up, as I will be asking to amend this agenda in council and I am explaining here to save council's time.
1- The motion I sent regarding GSA agenda is somehow listed under FALL GA. Fall GA is an item on the agenda since last council and my motion was never a part of it. so I think my motion should be listed as GSA agenda and it should be 5.1 as it is time sensitive. FALL GA should remain an item as 5.2 as it is also time sensitive.
2- I am going to take issue with the fact that in an agenda that has more than 12 substantive items, only 4 have written out motions which are basically my three motions and one motion from executives. ALL the 8 left are from the execs and have NO written out motions. I think this is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I may understand this for the closed session items but not the rest. I have, last council, conveyed that this should be fixed to execs but obviously this did not happen.
If they are meant as info sessions, then an e_mail would do; council is not an info session; council is not a rubber stamp to be asked to take decisions based on information provided 5 minutes before the vote.

Consequently, I will be moving to remove all non-time sensitive open sessions issues off the agenda. These will be the current 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 with the note that no open session items will be discussed with no written out motions in the future.

The early August Council Meeting will take place from 2-5pm on Tuesday, August 18th, at the School of Community and Public Affairs building on 2149 Mackay Street.

Reminders: If you are unable to attend this Council meeting, you must send regrets to Aurup at <coordinator at gsaconcordia.ca>. Otherwise, you are required to be present on Tuesday by 1:30PM to sign-in for the council meeting and therefore qualify for an honorarium (see Article 5.17, GSA Bylaws).
