[GSA Council] GSA agenda and GA dates

phone campaigns didn't call 2000 people last year... I was one of the people who tried. And the little that was done was also done very last minute, mobilization was done a week before.Yes I get this is not the only problem, but it is one of the problems and this is my way of addressing it. I do not see how deciding on dates and places in advance and having them well publicized could have a negative consequence other than that it is earlier work on the execs' part.
As I said, I did have the conversation with some execs last week so as to give as much time as possible; if the execs have a communication problem then that is another thing to address. 
Either ways, I have no interest in a hostile argument; I want for us to be able to work together on this and on other issues; I try to do my best to be cooperative with everyone. I have declared my intentions and it is council's decision. I have no problem taking responsibility for a proper mobilization campaign. I just wish you would also act in good faith and have those date and place options ready so that council has the ability to take the decisions it wants to take whether to approve dates and motions or not to. The next GA was on the Agenda at the last council meeting but we did not get to that agenda item. It will be on the agenda for the next council meeting. 
This email is coming a surprise to me. There is a way the GSA should work and there was a particular direction it was going last year that did not work. I believe that to call a GA,  the executives, GSA members and the University should be taken into consideration. Having fixed dates for the year is not a solution to last years big failure. The dates of the GA's were well publicized last year, and over two thousands people were called during each phone campaign. There are specific reasons why fixed dates and venues for a year cannot work. I have been involved with the GSA for years. 
One thing you have to understand is that the GSA agenda is different from other people's agenda. If you wish to impose fixed dates on us with a motion, please be willing to take responsibility. What you have in mind for mobilization is not want we planned.

For the next council, I intend to put a motion where by the GA dates and places (among other things) for the year are in the GSA agenda that is currently being worked on. 
because of the time pressure this implies, this council should also approve GA dates and place. So I would like to kindly ask the executives to have proposed GA dates and places for council to approve this council. This shouldn't be a surprise, I had this conversation with Jawad already a week ago.  
I think one of the lessons we should learn from last year big failure is that we have a big mobilization challenge. The main goal of all mobilization tools (like flyers, e_mails and phone campaigns) is to get GA dates, for example, on people's agendas and I think if we are distributing agendas, those dates should already by there.
