[GSA Council] About Last Night

Hey all,
I realize that we have a lot to say about what happened last night. In the interest of preventing this situation at the next GA and documenting this event, I would like to ask the Council members and staff to consider a few actions.
1) If people could write to academic.advocacy.gsa at gmail.com about how they felt at the GA last night (and encourage their friends to do so) that would be a start. Actions can't be called against this unless there's documented statements that describe what went wrong. I've already received a few letters that speak of voter intimidation and harassment. We don't stand for this.
2) Council should consider having an urgent special meeting to discuss this GA and come up with a solution to the problems that showed up. If this happens again, we will undoubtedly alienate all of our membership who are interested in points beyond elections. This has nothing to do with my role in the elections; This is a matter of preventing the general assembly becoming a tyrannical and hostile experience that GSA will not recover from.
3) I would also encourage bylaws committee to meet as soon as possible to discuss this issue, ideally before a special meeting of council on this particular issue.
The next GA is in a month and there need to be solutions to this before then. Please consider these suggestions.
Best,
--
