[GSA Council] Nov 5 draft Mins + items due for Council Packet (for meeting on Tues, Nov 18)

 Hello Councillors--

Any reports/updates/motions for the Packet are due tomorrow (Friday) for our
next Council meeting from 2:00 PM -5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18th.

We will meet again in the basement room of the SCPA at 2149 Mackay Street.

Below I have included the action item list with updated timeline, but need
your input on time frames for your action list. Please let me know so I can
update the list before council.

Also, please find you draft minutes attached from Nov. 5 (I fixed a few
typos).

Finally, if you are unable to attend this Council meeting, you must send
regrets to Aurup at <coordinator at gsaconcordia.ca>.

And if you are considering stepping down from council, this requires a
"written notice of resignation" (see Article XVI – Resignations).

Otherwise, see you Tuesday by 1:30pm to sign-in for the council meeting and
therefore qualify for an honorarium (see Article 5.17).

*Budget Committee* will circulate the proposed GSA budget.



*NOW*



*Bylaw Committee* will discuss possible amendments that would provide a
clearer framework for the creation of new staff positions and the filling
of these positions in the future, including a provision for emergency
situations. *Bylaw committee* will also discuss BOG representative, their
independence, who should fulfill this role.



The *President* and the *Academic/Advocacy* represent GSA on graduate class
sizes through monitoring, creating awareness, and advocating for a case by
case assessment by Dec GA.



*Academic/Advocacy* and *Advocacy Manager* will request of the
administration to stop sharing students info to third parties without
consent.



*Communication Manager* will issue an apology and promise to host events at
venues that do not promote discriminatory policies in the next newsletter.



Financial report for GA should include a broad overview of the finances and
a report on the Budget committee. *Sean* will present the Financial report
along with *Jawad* and* Rohit*.



*Council* needs to strike a Equity Retreat Committee to organize a Special
Council Retreat on Equity and Diversity to be held in January 2015.


 *VP M**obilization* and the *GA committee* adopt an aggressive
mobilization campaign for this coming GA at Loyola on Monday December 1st
at Loyola.



*Council's* master action list needs to also include a time line.


 *TIME FRAME?*



*BDS Committee* to investigate Concordia’s relationship with the State of
Israel and its institutions.



*VP Mobilization* and *Departments Manager* organize a GSA Arts & Science
Congress and Fine Arts Congress in collaboration with Directors from each
of these faculties.



*Executive Committee* will budget for and conduct a financial audit for the
2014-2015 fiscal year.


 *Dept Manager* and *GSA President* will support the inclusion of DOEIGSA
members in the DESC Space Committee and monitor the situation to ensure
that the Faubourg building is renovated to meet students’ needs.



*GradProSkills committee*, Keroles, Korosh, Trevor, Rohit and Jawad are
mandated to negotiate the cost of GradProSkill French classes.
