Hello Councillors--

The next Council meeting will take place on Thursday, Dec. 18, from
2:00pm-5:00pm.

Reminders: If you are unable to attend this Council meeting, you must send
regrets to Aurup at <coordinator at gsaconcordia.ca>.

And if you are considering stepping down from council, this requires a
"written notice of resignation" (see Article XVI – Resignations). If you do
not resign *before* the meeting, this could cause the council to not make
quorum. Otherwise, any Councillor who has two or more unaccounted absences
can be dismissed by Council. Any such motion needs to be circulated in
advance with the agenda.

*Action Items*

(BE)FOR NEXT COUNCIL

Korosh with follow-up with missing ENCS directors and make a motion prior
to the next meeting regarding dismissals;

Budget committee will present budget to the December council meeting and
Roddy will send an excel version of the budget (with the breakdown
requested by Ribal) to the Council before next meeting. [Does this one
replace this older action item: *Financial report for GA should include a
broad overview of the finances and a report on the Budget committee. Sean
will present the Financial report along with Jawad and Rohit at the next GA*
?]

Roddy to verify if the Bursary on the website has been updated since last
changes.

The BDS Committee to will write a letter to support BDS yes campaign in CSU
referendum and mandates the VP Mobilization to publish it by FridayNovember
 21st;

Council needs to strike a Equity Retreat Committee to organize a Special
Council Retreat on Equity and Diversity to be held in January 2015;

FOR DEC 1st GA

The GSA GA will be Live streamed plus the VP Mobilization and the GA
committee adopt an aggressive mobilization campaign for this coming GA at
Loyola on Monday December 1st at Loyola;

The Graduate Students’ Association shall remind every GSA GA participant of
the Assembly’s right, as per Robert’s Rules of Order, either by a rule or
by a vote, to eject any one from its place of meeting, and that “it is the
duty of the chairperson to enforce the rule of order, using whatever force
is necessary” to eject the party;

IN-PROGRESS

Bylaw Committee will discuss possible amendments that would provide a
clearer framework for the creation of new staff positions and the filling
of these positions in the future, including a provision for emergency
situations. Bylaw committee will also discuss BOG representative, their
independence, who should fulfill this role;

The President and the Academic/Advocacy represent GSA on graduate class
sizes through monitoring, creating awareness, and advocating for a case by
case assessment by Dec GA;

Academic/Advocacy and Advocacy Manager will request of the administration
to stop sharing students info to third parties without consent;

NO DATE YET

BDS Committee to investigate Concordia’s relationship with the State of
Israel and its institutions.

VP Mobilization and Departments Manager organize a GSA Arts & Science
Congress and Fine Arts Congress in collaboration with Directors from each
of these faculties.

Executive Committee will budget for and conduct a financial audit for the
2014-2015 fiscal year.

Dept Manager and GSA President will support the inclusion of DOEIGSA
members in the DESC Space Committee and monitor the situation to ensure
that the Faubourg building is renovated to meet students’ needs.

GradProSkills committee, Korosh, Trevor, Rohit and Jawad are mandated to
negotiate the cost of GradProSkill French classes.
