Since 1994, the Frontline Information Service Mailing List has been brought to
you by animalliberation.net. Originally the list was meant to bring information
about animal liberation actions to a wide audience by publishing news and
communiques from the Animal Liberation Front and other animal liberation action
groups. 

In the past few years, the scope of postings to this list has changed with the
rise of the Earth Liberation Front and other underground direct action groups
in North America and elsewhere. In that time, postings about actions against
the war, genetic engineering, suvs and urban sprawl have made it to this list
as well as animal liberation actions.

As a result of this, the administrators of this list have decided to rename
ourselves from the Animal Liberation Frontline Information Service to the
Direct Action Frontline Information Service since we feel that more accurately
reflects the wide-range of actions that we support through publishing
information on.

The service itself will not change noticeably and this is still the list to
receive news on the ALF and ELF as well as any other underground direct actions
that we are aware of in North America (including those that are unclaimed or
anonymously claimed). As well as direct action reports and news, we will be
using this list to distribute information about activists needing legal support
in facing charges related to direct actions.

We can still be reached at the same email address (frontline at rocketmail.com)
and will be posting new pgp keys shortly.

Please continue to send us your communiques and news items for inclusion on
this list at the above address.
