One of the long-range, "big picture" ideas that our board might consider 
would be a strategic alliance with freegeek and perhaps other local 
non-profit groups working in the same area.  We have space at 411, a 
charitable tax number, and a ton of expertise and community 
connections.  Freegeek has a lot of energy, and could potentially 
complement our work by getting computers into the hands of people who 
can't afford new ones, running courses on using linux, and so on.  If 
VCN needs to realign itself because CAP is being discontinued (despite 
yesterday's good news, there's no confirmation that there will be BC 
program, or a Vancouver program, or that VCN would get the "contract" if 
there is), continuing to go it alone may not be the best strategy.
