Flying Folk Army
Flying Folk Army are an 8-piece radical folk dance band who perform a mix of traditional & original music across a huge
range of genres - from country to union songs to klezmer to celtic to.... the Flying Folk Army were born on Mayday 1998 and
we are thrilled to have them celebrate their 6th birthday with us.

Mecca Normal
The Vancouver duo of Jean Smith and David Lester, together known as Mecca Normal, could never be accused of being
one-dimensional or static. In the world of star-making corporate rock, Mecca Normal have always been challenging and
disruptive of preconceptions and boundaries. Quite frankly, they don't play by the rules. We're excited to have punk
legends Mecca Normal at the Mayworks Cabaret April 30th.

Running Dog Lackeys
The Running Dog Lackeys are an Asian Canadian musical col-lective. The band lines up Coffee House Drum Jammer Wayne Soon,
Yale Bluesmeister Keegan Chen, on Keys and Guitar, and Chinatown Poet/Activist Sean Gunn on the Fender Bass. The Lackeys
have played at Vancouver's Asian Heritage Month, the Firehall Theatre;s hot dog party, and recently, they have appeared on
Saltwater City TV, an Independent Community Television program on Shaw Cable 4, produced by volunteers led by Sid Tan and
Eric Chan.

Hugo Rojas
Hugo Rojas is a popular and well respected player of Latin American protest songs.

Gibran Theatre Group
Will be performing a shorter version of one of their full length productions at the MayWorks Cabaret. They are a group led
by actor, playwright and director Muhammad Enad, and have been working for over a year to nurture artistic talent in the
Arab community; to promote Arab and Middle Eastern heritage and tradition by organizing artistic events that engage the
wider public; to engage children and youth in its activities; and to foster critical discourse.

Joanne Arnott
Metis poet Joanne Arnott reads from her steamy new book, "Steepy Mountain: Love Poetry" at the Friday night Cabaret.
