[SMRT.risingtide] Info on panel Feb 10th

Hey y'all

This is mostly just an agenda item but thought I would send along Teresa's
description of the climate justice event on Feb 10th at Grandview. She
outlines a bit of what we are requested to talk about as well..maybe folks
could think on it over the next few days?

"The other 2 presenters are David Tracey - the author of Earth Manifesto...
a book about environmental justice - connecting to nature, etc. You can
find him on line and then Rueben George from the Tsleil Waututh Nation in
North Van. I am hoping that he will focus specifically on the impact of
resource extraction/climate change and his community. We are hoping that RT
will focus on resistance to enviro justice issues. I am wondering if we can
try and do the connecting the dots thing and linking especially to
colonialism and capitalism as root causes of climate change..."

So if anyone has any thoughts on how to do this/what to talk about bring it
to the meeting..and maybe one or two folks can meet to prepare something?
I'm still game to be the one to present 'cause I've never done something
like this before and it might be good practice..?
