Studio Improvements: You may have recently noticed more improvements in the quality of our audio. Many thanks to our broadcast engineer for his keen ear and fantastic expertise in all things technical--and much more. ‘ Programming Notes: Women’s voices are important to us. Red indicates locally produced shows. BUT, WE NEED YOU. Local radio impacts the community and strengthens community identity. We need you to help us grow and expand our local programming to tell the stories you won’t hear on corporate media. How about joining the KNSJ team? Getting involved in local independent broadcasting is fun, rewarding, relevant and impactful. No experience is necessary. From program production, writing, social media, to outreach, research, administrative, there is a place for you at KNSJ.
For more information contact us at info at knsj.org or call 619-283-1100.
News-Program Director Jim Brewster Update: We are delighted to announce that Jim is back in the saddle. We expect to hear his dulcet tones on the air soon doing local reports, stories and history. Besides Jim’s illustrious radio career (including station management and breaking major stories to national news agencies), he has also been a restaurateur specializing in Thai food. Jim has decided that his life is not busy enough. Joining forces with chef JJ from Thailand, Jim has added ”flavorsome” cuisine to his “flavorsome” broadcast voice—Jim and Chef JJ have opened at 4965 Cass St., San Diego (92109) in Pacific Beach. Hot or Not Thai is already making a bold statement on San Diego’s restaurant landscape.

 People-powered independent volunteer community radio
We are deeply grateful to our wonderful and enthusiastic donors, volunteers and listeners for all of their work and support. KNSJ brings fresh ideas and perspectives vital to a healthy democracy in contrast to consolidated corporate media which delivers the same corporate message across the nation, dictated from offices with little or no ties to the community.

KNSJ depends on donations and subscriptions. Please become a sustaining member or make a donation by going to knsj.org and selecting the Donate Button.
