[Busriders-van] Call to action: Translink is acting the "pickpocket" again!

Translink board member Councillor R. Louie (Vancouver: 604-873-7743) has
**flip-flopped** on the fare increase!! At the previous meeting, he voted
against the increase, but this month, in violation of a Translink
"rule of order" (noted below) he has re-introduced it as item 4.2 on this
Fridays board meeting agenda!!

According to the news item on CKWX, the proposed increase applies to adult
fare users (both cash and pass) and, in violation of their pricing agreement
with the Universities, to *** U-PASS users ***!!!

The "rule of order" this violates is: "In order to re-visit an item, the
board must *first* vote 60% in favor of doing so" (Quote from past chair
George Puil during the transit lockout, and recorded in board minutes)
According to the board minutes since, there is *no* record of this rule
being revoked, therefore it is still in force! This same rule can be
invoked against RAV: the so-called approval only means that RAV is
allowed to be re-visited at some future date.

Possible fight plan: Bring up where the funds from the previous fare
increases went: (into huge pay increases for the board, and contrary
to Translink claims, *not* into any service improvements...)
