Hello my name is Anuschka. I am one of the former employees of Gelato Time
on Commercial Drive.

 

Our boss has terminated employment for all workers of the store without any
written notice leaving us out of work. To make matters worse he now trying
to take advantage of the young women now unemployed, by refusing to pay
severance pay for termination without written notice.

The employer is planning on pocketing our severance pay hoping that we will
not put up a fight.

The employer has repeatedly violated the law in the past by refusing
employees meal breaks and refusing to pay vacation pay to several former
employees over the duration the business has been open.

The employees of Gelato Time have set up a protest line at the other two
restaurants the employer owns to stand up for their rights and show no one
can take advantage of any young workers of British Columbia.

If anyone can lend some support at our protest line on Saturday Nov 27th in
the morning beginning at 11 AM, it would be appreciated.

If you are not able to come out tomorrow please contact one of the
businesses at 310-6342 and tell them you do not approve of the treatment of
these workers.
