*MARCH AND RALLY *
*for social and economic justice in BC*

Saturday, May 9, 1pm
Gather at Clark Park (Commercial and 14th)
Picnic at McSpadden Park (Commercial and 4th) at 2:30pm

Rally and march to expose the shameful record of the Liberal government over
the last eight years, and to demand social and economic justice for our
communities.

Over the last eight years, the BC Liberals: cut welfare; privatized health
care; fired 8000 health care workers; raised bus fares; introduced the
Canada Line - the biggest Public Private Partnership in Canadian history;
implemented highway megaprojects; cut childcare programs; closed women’s
centres; increased MSP premiums; initiated a racist treaty referendum
attacked workers rights; implemented the $6/hour training wage, cut legal
aid; and raised tuition fees.

Rally and March for housing, healthcare, chilcare, public transit,
accessible education, liveable welfare and jobs with justice.

Roundtable Discussion:
Fighting for a people’s agenda in BC

Thursday, May 7, 6:30pm
@ Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (800 East Broadway)

Over the last 30 years, the major political parties in BC have contributed
to the rise of neoliberalism in our province, which has led to a growing
divide between rich and poor.

Come join progressive community leaders and organizers in a rountable
discussion about what our communities need to achieve social and economic
equality in BC, what strategies we can use to fight for social and economic
justice and how grassroots organizations can work together more effectively
to achieve meaningful changes.
