The Mayan Communities that are being totally destroyed by Canadians in
Guatemala need your urgent support. The destruction of Maya land and the
direct and indirect massacre of it's people must stop now, and every
Canadian resident and Citizen has the power to do so. Use that
power.

Canadian Mining operations in the Maya-Mam region in Guatemala begun in
1996. Canadians begun their operations by deceiving and lying to the Maya
people by offering them farming projects to generate a lot of jobs and
community development.  Since then, these Canadian corporations have
operated under different names, now as Gold Corp Inc. and instead of any of
the promises, they have stolen lands, violated free prior and informed
consent, completely disrespected the local traditional authorities and
caused the following serious problems:


   - *Destruction of houses*. Many houses are cracked of otherwise destroyed
   due to the massive explosions and detonations carried out to break apart the
   soil and rock, as well as the traffic of heavy machinery.
   - *Drying up and disappearance of wells and springs* that have for ages
   provided water for the local families. Thus far that being a development,
   the mine has destroyed our water sources and natural wealth.
   - *Pollutions of the water supply with deadly chemicals such a cyanide *
   - *Disappearance of local paths and roads constructed by the communities.
   *
   - *Pollution caused by the dispersion of dust and evaporation of toxic
   gases. *This has led to serious respiratory illnesses in children and
   entire families.
   - *Construction of illegal subterranean ramps, *this is a serious death
   threat to the hundreds of families that have their homes in these areas.
   - *The company employees have generated and carried out violence and have
   murdered members of the community*
   - *The disappearance of members of some families*
   - *Illegal arrests and searches*
   - *Repression against the communities because of their petitions*
