"Only more 2 days...
Can't wait to boogie down at the Dance-a-thon!"

That's right. That's what we keep hearing from those dancers as they ask for
pledges and warm up to get down and shake it in 2 days! And It's not just
any dancing session - it's the first ever Bus Riders Union dance-a-thon. So
the dancing is work that our supporters, members or organizers are putting
in to help us raise funds so we can sustain our grassroots organizing in the
community. We still need YOUR pledge so our dancers can work their magic at
the dance-a-thon. With a donation of $10, at $2 per song, the 'dancer' will
dance to 5 songs at our dance-a-thon. If you haven't pledged, and you don't
want to show your hidden dancing talents, you can still make a pledge
on Saturday
Sep 29, 2007 @ 7pm.

As you know, Bus Riders Union active members and organizers work hard
organizing bus riders into campaigns that address the needs of the poor and
marginalized and to build a movement for social justice. We've had a busy
summer working on our *Stop the Fare Increase! Buy 500 buses by 2010!* campaign
through weekly direct contact organizing, mobilizations to TransLink
meetings, regular performances of "The Cauldron of Privatization" by our
street theatre crew to do popular education with bus riders, and taking to
the streets with a rally & march this past week. But we're not slowing down
any time this fall as we will keep doing popular education with bus riders
and organizing them to stand together and fight for what we're entitled to -
public transit system based on needs of people, not profit.
*You can pledge one of our 'dancers' by:*
1. Dropping by our office
2. Mailing in a cheque
3. Attending the dance-a-thon

You are invited to attend the dance-a-thon, where our dancers will be
gettin' down & shakin' it to the number of songs pledged, on Saturday Sept
29th, 2007 @ 7pm at the Organizing Centre for Social and Economic Justice
(672 E. Broadway at Fraser). We will have snacks and it will be
child-friendly.
