Transit for all! Stop the fare increase

Rally and March for Social Justice, Public Health and the Environment

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1 PM

MAIN STREET SKYTRAIN STATION

Faced with increasing social and economic injustice, declining air quality
and mounting environmental crisis, the Bus Riders Union is organizing a
rally and march on September 22, 2007 to pressure all levels of government
to support a public transit system that promotes social justice, equity,
public health and environmental sustainability.

 *DEMANDS:*

* TransLink: Stop the Fare Increase!   Buy 500 buses by 2010***

    *Provincial Government:** Stop Gateway! Invest billions in public
transit not highway expansion. ***

*     * *Federal Government:** Money for Public Services not for War!
Withdraw all Canadian troops from Afghanistan – increase funding for public
services not war and occupation.***

 *Get involved in building the Transit For All! Rally and March:***

˜         Come to an upcoming BRU Monthly Meeting: Saturday September 1,
11-1 PM @ the Organizing Center for Social and Economic Justice (672 E.
Broadway @ Fraser Street)

˜           Put up a poster in your neighbourhood or apartment building or
at you workplace, school, daycare, community center or place of worship

˜           Organize your family, friends, neighbours, and co-workers to
take part in the rally and march

˜         Contact the BRU to find out how to get involved with postering,
leafleting, street theater and other activities to build Transit For All!
