On Friday, January 14 bus riders will be on Fare Strike. The Vancouver Bus Riders
Union (BRU) has organized this Fare Strike in response to TransLink's fare increase
that came into effect January 1. On Friday, teams of BRU organizers will be riding
the buses and encouraging people not to pay their fares or show their passes. The
BRU Fare Strike is an opportunity for thousands of bus riders to take organized and
direct action against the fare increase and TransLink's agenda of privatization of
public transit. Join us in sending a powerful message to TransLink that our
communities are organized and prepared to fight tooth and nail to stop fare
increases and cuts to bus service. We will not allow TransLink to privatize public
transit on the backs of working class and marginalized communities!
