BUS RIDERS UNION ACTION ALERT

Support Bus Riders' call for Night Owl Buses

What?

Demonstration for Night Owl Buses, including BRU Theatre of the Oppressed performance of "Taking on the TransLink Monster," speakers from the Bus Riders Union, the Hospital Employees Union, and the End the Two Year Time Limit Coalition, and action to win for justice for bus riders.

When?

Wednesday, February 18 at 6PM

Where? 

Broadway and Commercial Dr. (Broadway Station)

Why?

-- For two years the curfew resulting from TransLink's decision to cut Night Owl buses has undermined the health, safety and economic viability of transit dependent people in the region

-- The people most affected by the curfew are low-wage late night workers, mostly women and people of colour, facing economic and political attacks on all fronts.

-- Winning back Night Owl bus service means winning back $1.5 million for the needs of working class and marginalized people and away from the corporate interests of developers, big contractors, regional politicians and TransLink bureaucrats.
