Join us for a General Meeting to discuss how we can fight the fare
increase TransLink has proposed for April 2005. We will watch a clip from
the Bus Riders Union LA movie about how they organized against a fare
increase in their campaign "No seat no fare," followed by discussion.

Members of the BRU will be attending the TransLink Board Meeting on
Wednesday,October 29, 9am, at Richmond City Hall.

The Bus Riders Union continues to be banned from speaking at TransLink
meetings. Join us as we continue to protest the banning and have the
voices of bus riders heard in the board room. To join us or for more

TransLink is holding at Pulic Consultation on their 10-year outlood and
3-year financial strategy, which includes pouring billions into Skytrain,
raising fares, and delaying bus service increases.

TransLink has consistently ignored the opinions of bus riders and saught
to exclude their voices from TL board meetings by holding their meetings
in inaccessible locations on weekday early mornings. This public
consultation is a public relations campaign to justify their policies that
are going to have a negative impact on bus riders through higher fares and
decreased bus service.

Bus Riders Union organizers will be attending to leaflet a statement. For
