next bakery assembly & visioning process update!

[Bread Uprising Bakery]

The next bakery assembly is coming up soon... save the date!
Sunday, September 12 from 1-4 PM

At the bakery assembly last April, a team of about 10 bakery
subscribers volunteered to be on a visioning support
team, to help continue the
visioning process begun at the assembly. Since then, we have been
meeting monthly to work on proposals for a vision statement and
structure for the bakery, which we'll present at the assembly.

But we need your help!!!
After all the great ideas at the first assembly and more discussions
amongst the advisory council, we have a long list of visions and
ideals which we feel like the bakery should (and does!) embody. As
Kriti asked at a recent meeting, "Why aren't we ready to write a
vision statement now?" The truth is, we're stuck and we need your
help. We're having trouble figuring out how to fold together this
beautiful patchwork of visions and ideals into a few core concepts
which not only capture what the bakery is about now, but are
meaningful and challenging enough to guide our dreams as we move
forward.

So...
In a few sentences, what would you say are the core values of Bread
Uprising? And how would you define those values? In other words, what
would you write for a vision statement?

Please let us know by email by this coming Saturday (the 14th), since
we're meeting the next day to work on the vision statement.

We envision using your responses not only to inform the proposed
vision statement, but also bringing them each together into some sort
of patchwork coat of many visionary colors that could hang in the
bakery. If you have other advice about how to proceed in this process,
or want to join us in working on the proposed vision, please let us
know as well.

If you're having trouble getting started, here are some of the things
we've been thinking about... for many of them we're working to define
them in this specific context, beyond the buzzwords they've become.

*Accountability
