Jessica,

I am completely down for organizing something on that day, all  
depending on whether it will be an international event like you said.

To be honest I have been very discouraged with this whole  
thing...trying to find support for this cause has been really  
frustrating for me. I think what I'm going to do is start looking up  
organizations in Victoria and letting them know of this so they can  
promote the cause better. That way, a lot more people will start to  
listen rather than just individuals. I just don't know what else to do  
and quite honestly I am feeling a bit defeated. I mean, Bradley  
Manning provides us with the perfect opportunity to discuss war crimes  
and human rights issues but not enough people are seizing this  
opportunity. I understand people are busy, they have their own lives,  
etc etc... but even so, this is a human being we are talking about, a  
person just like us, being tortured under our very eyes. And simply  
because this is happening on American soil does not mean we should  
turn our back on it. In fact, Canada's relations with the United  
States should give us even MORE reason to act! This just completely  
boggles my mind. When I talk about Bradley Manning to others, the  
general response i get is: "well that is really horrible, but i'm too  
busy".. or, "what can i do?" We need to turn that thinking around! It  
starts with one person and you are proof of that. Now it's time to  
start a momentum.

I'm sorry this rant was more so intended for me to let out some steam.  
But I am really happy you are just as passionate about this as I am.  
We need more people like you out there. I know they are there, they  
just have to choose to step up.


Anyways, yes I am interested in doing a rally in June, maybe even  
sooner for his pre-trial hearing. But no matter what, those will both  
be held in June so we have a good chunk of time to plan and recruit  
more people.
