Lettre ouverte aux militaires de Valcartier (Québec): Un appel au
refus de participer au déploiment

Lundi le 11 juin 2007 -- Depuis ce matin, quelque 3000 lettres ont été
postées aux militaires de la base de Valcartier, près de Québec. Plus
de 2000 soldat(e)s de cette base doivent être déployé-e-s en
Afghanistan en août prochain.

Open letter to the soldiers of Valcartier: A call to refuse deployment
to Afghanistan

(June 11, 2007 -- As of this morning, upwards of 3000 letters have
been mailed to the soldiers of CFB Valcartier, near Quebec City. More
than 2000 soldiers from the base will deploy to Afghanistan later this
summer.

Le 22 juin 2007 : Québec, Qc.- Actions de perturbation pour dénoncer
le déploiement en Afghanistan, en août prochain, de 2000 soldats du

Au départ de Montréal : Les autobus partiront en début de journée

Protest Canada's deployment of  troops to Afghanistan from Valcartier
: RESERVE YOUR SPOT on the bus to Quebec City

June 22nd, 2007, Quebec, QC - A day of disruptive actions to denounce
the August deployment of 2000 soldiers to Afghanistan from the Royal
22nd Regiment of Valcartier.

On June 22nd, the soldiers of the Valcartier garrison will parade for
dignitaries and citizens as part of a military parade and symbolic
flourishing of arms in the heart of the Old City of Quebec. The GUERRE
À LA GUERRE coalition has called for the disruption of the march and
actions opposing the deployment of Canadian troops in Afghanistan.

BUSES LEAVING FROM MONTREAL: buses will leave from Montreal in the
morning (time tbc) and returning later the same evening/night.

Succès de l'opération "Action Jardinière autonome" rue Island.

Le dimanche 3 juin dernier, à l'initiative du Collectif La Pointe
libertaire, une trentaine de résidentEs de Pointe Saint-Charles et
d'ailleurs se sont réappropriéEs un espace public situé sur la rue
Island entre la rue St-Patrick et le canal-de-Lachine. Cet espace est
laissé à l'abandon depuis plusieurs années par ses propriétaires,
l'Arrondissement Sud-Ouest et Parcs Canada. L'aménagement de ce
terrain fait partie des revendications de l'Opération populaire
d'aménagement de Pointe Saint-Charles quant à l'amélioration des
espaces verts.

Camp de réfugiés Nahr al Bared au Liban : Appel à la solidarité

Depuis le 20 mai, Nahr al Bared, camp de réfugiés palestiniens du Nord
du Liban dont la population est évaluée à 40 000 habitants, est sous
les bombardements de l'armée libanaise. L'assaut donné par l'armée
dans le camp densément peuplé a eu lieu après un affrontement entre
les forces de sécurité libanaises et un groupe armé salafiste appelé
Fatah al Islam, qui s'est infiltré dans la population civile du camp.

Nahr al Bared Refugee Camp, Lebanon : Call for Solidarity

Since 20 May, Nahr al Bared, a Palestinian refugee camp in northern
Lebanon with an estimated 40,000 inhabitants, has been under
bombardment by Lebanese military forces. The military assault on the
densely populated refugee camp takes place after a clash between
Lebanese security forces and an armed salifist group called Fatah al
Islam, which infiltrated the civilian refugee camp.

the disruptive tactics being employed to oppose the upcoming Olympic
Games in Vancouver and Whistler in 2010, in support of anti-poverty
and indigenous sovereignty efforts.

ASHLEY TURNER & ROB BLOCK of Sin Fronteras in Houston, Texas, about a
recent protest at an immigration detention facility, as part of a
Global Day of Action for Free Movement coinciding with anti-G8
protests in Germany.

Prison Radio Special : Migration and Incarceration in our Communities

The Canadian Immigration system relies on the existence of prisons,
and in particular immigration detention centres to maintain a system
of inequality, racism and exclusion. Racialized and migrant
communities are especially affected by incarceration, policing and
profiling.

This Thursday June 14 at 5pm, PrisonRadio on CKUT will devote an hour
long special to exploring the intersections of immigration and
incarceration.

Piquetage de solidarité avec les lock-outés du Cimitière
Notre-Dame-des-Neiges (15 juin)

Le Réseau de Solidarité des Travailleurs-Travailleuses, regroupement
syndical de travailleur-euse-s basé sur l'action directe, appelle à
une première action de piquetage de solidarité avec les membres du
Syndicat des travailleurs du cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges de la
Fabrique de la paroisse Notre-Dame de Montréal, affilié à la CSN, qui
sont en lock-out depuis le 16 mai. D'autres piquetages de solidarité
auront lieu au cours des prochains jours.

Le 1er Décembre 2005, Mohamed Anas Bennis, un jeune canadien de 25 ans
d'origine marocaine a été abattu par l'agent Bernier du poste 25. Anas
a été tué à l'extérieur d'une mosquée de quartier, à quelques pas de
chez lui, angle Kent et Côte-des-Neiges.

On December 1st, 2005 -- more than one year ago -- police officer
Bernier from Station 25 shot and killed Anas Bennis, a 25-year old
Canadian of Moroccan heritage. Anas was killed outside a neighborhood
mosque at the corner of Côte-des-Neiges and Kent, just minutes from
his home.
