 QUAND : Vendredi, le 13 juillet, le 561e jour que Kader est en sanctuaire.

 18h30 : Souper, placotage, mise à jour sur la campagne, jeux
 20h30 : Projection de films, avec la présence de Denis Chouinard,
réalisateur du film « L'Ange de goudron »

 OÙ : Sur la pelouse derrière l'Église St-Gabriel
 2157 rue centre (métro Charlevoix)
 Pointe-St-Charles, Montréal

 FILMS : L'Ange de goudron, Denis Chouinard, 2001. En français avec
sous-titres anglais.  Racontant l'histoire d'une famille arabe qui
s'installe au Québec, ce film nous présente un immigrant algérien sur le
point de recevoir ses papiers de citoyenneté, ce qui devrait ouvrir les
portes pour lui et sa famille vers un avenir meilleur.  Mais son rêve est
mis en péril par les activités politiques de son fils Hafid qui lutte
contre la déportation d'autres immigrants.

Dignité pour Abdelkader: « Régularisez son statut! », un court film
récemment réalisé par Santiago Bertolino

POURQUOI : Kader (Abdelkader Belaouni), un immigrant d'Algérie, a pris
sanctuaire le 1er janvier 2006, défiant ainsi un ordre de déportation
d'Immigration Canada qui était injuste et discriminatoire.  Depuis, malgré
un dossier très solide et des appuis de partout, le gouvernement n'a rien
fait pour régler son statut.  Venez le 13 juillet pour en savoir plus sur
l'histoire de Kader, pour rencontrer  cet exceptionnel membre de notre
communauté, pour s'amuser ensemble et pour savoir comment vous pouvez vous
impliquer dans la campagne pour appuyer Kader.

 QUOI APPORTER : SVP apportez de la bouffe à partager. Des barbecues
seront disponibles sur place.  Personne ne sera refusé.

 Si vous voulez, apportez une couverture, car le souper et la projection
du film auront lieu à l'extérieur.

 WHEN? Friday, JULY 13th, KADER'S 561st day in sanctuary. We will start
eating at 6:30PM, play, catch up, meet Kader, discuss campaign update and
then we will get the MOVIES going around 8:30PM. Denis Chouinard,
director of L'Ange de Goudron (Tar Angel) will be there.

 WHERE? The Grassy area behind St Gabriel's church
 2157 rue centre (metro charlevoix)
 Point St Charles, Montreal

MOVIES? L'Ange de goudron (Tar Angel), Denis Chouinard, 2001. French with
English subtitles. The story of an ordinary Arab family that settles in
Quebec, the movie centres on an Algerian immigrant who is about to receive
the citizenship papers that  will finally open the doors to a better
future for him and his family. But his dream is thrown into disarray by
the political activities of his son Hafid to prevent the deportation of
other immigrants.

Dignité pour Abdelkader: «Régularisez son statut!» (Dignity for
Abdelkader: Regularize his status), a short film recently completed by
Santiago Bertolino.

 WHY? Kader (Abdelkader Belaouni), an immigrant from Algeria, took
sanctuary in St. Gabriel's church on 1 January 2006, in defiance of a
discriminatory and unjust deportation order. Despite Kader's strong case
and tons of support for Kader, the government has done nothing to fix the
problem. Come on 13 July to hear more of Kader's story, get to know a
wonderful member of our community, have fun together, and find out how
you can get involved in the campaign to support Kader.

 WHAT-TO-BRING? Please bring some food to share, bbq's available on site.
No one will be turned away! We are also asking people to bring a larger
dish, if you can, please confirm by emailing: jordan[at]resist[dot]ca.

 Maybe bring a blanket too as the supper and movie will be outside
