Snap! Moving to Our Own Beats is hiring a Project Co-ordinator!
About Snap! Moving to Our Own Beats:
Snap! is a FREE summer program for youth of colour and Indigenous youth
(16-30) to learn skills, share ideas and gain experiences that will help
us to change the world we live in - to end racism and all forms of
discrimination that affect us. We are 'moving to our own beats' because
this is a program for youth, by youth, and we believe that we know best
what affects us, and how we as youth can change things...

Job description
? Develop and work with Snap! collective on program design.
? Create promotional materials such as pamphlets, posters, flyers, a
website, radio ads, listserves, etc.
? Fundraise through events and solicit donations from institutions and
private donors.
? Develop and co-ordinate outreach for participants (flyering,
postering, announcements, etc in schools and community spaces relevant
to Snap!?s mandate.)
? Contact and schedule speakers, facilitators, artists, musicians, etc.
for Snap! programming.
? Co-ordinate and facilitate Snap! art projects and research projects
? Co-ordinate food, childcare, and accessibility for workshops and events.
? Misc. administrative tasks related to project wrap-up.
Required
? Desktop publishing skills.
? Experience facilitating artistic development within marginalized
communities.
? Knowledge of Montreal communities and community groups.
? Committed to working in marginalized communities (i.e. racialized,
lgbtttq&q and low-income communities, etc.).
Assets
? Experience volunteering or working in the non-profit, community and/or
art sectors.
? Working knowledge of Mac OSX.
? Experience working with consensus based decision making in a
collective environment
? Demonstrated organizational and event coordination skills
This is an employment grant-based position and therefore candidates must
comply with the grant eligibility guidelines. You must be a Canadian
citizen and have been a full-time post-secondary student in the last
semester, with a permanent address outside of your province of study.
