Solidarity Across Borders (SAB) is inviting all those interested in
fighting for justice and dignity for all migrants to join us at our
next general assembly.
At our next assembly, we are honored to welcome two members of the
"Ricardo Flores Magon" Popular Indigenous Council of Oaxaca
(CIPO-RFM), an organization that unites twenty indigenous communities
in the state of Oaxaca (Mexico) that is currently defying brutal state
and military repression for their popular uprising against the state

6pm: Introduction to Solidarity Across Borders for newcomers
6:30pm (sharp): Presentation by Asunción Lopez et Pedro Bautista of
the CIPO-RFM, the "Ricardo Flores Magon" Popular Indigenous Council of
Oaxaca.
Background: Earlier this year, the Oaxaca teachers union demanded
salary increases and the improvement of the educational
infrastructure; the state responded with repression on June 14. Since
then, the people of Oaxaca have taken the streets to demand the
removal of governor Ulises Ruiz, and more than 260 organizations have
formed the Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca (APPO), of which
the CIPO-RFM is a part. Facing the prospect of further state and
paramilitary repression, APPO is organizing to resist and is asking
for international solidarity.
7:30pm-9:30pm: SAB General Assembly. Agenda topics include: a)
follow-up proposals from meeting with Toronto allies, including
possible Status for All National Day of Action next May 2007 and a
continental day of action next October 2007; b) SAB Action Committee
report-back and anti-CBSA campaign; c) People's Commission popular
education consultation; d) Presentation by members of NOII-Vancouver
and NOII-Montreal; e) and more ?

Solidarity Across Borders is a Montreal-based network engaged in the
struggle for justice and dignity of immigrants and refugees. We are
comprised of migrants, immigrants, refugees and allies, and come
together in support of our main demands: the regularization of all
non-status people (Status for All!), an end to deportations and
detentions, and the abolition of security certificates.
