Suite à la brutale invasion militaire israélienne dans la Bande de Gaza et
maintenant le sud du Liban, les Montréalais descendent dans la rue pour
exiger qu'Israël cesse ses attaques et mette fin à
l'occupation. Depuis que cette invasion - cyniquement nommée
"Opération Pluie d'Été" - a commencé le 28 juin, un nombre alarmant
d'hommes, de femmes et d'enfants palestiniens meurent dans les
bombardements de villes comme Gaza et Khan Younis. L'infrastructure
civile, dont les centrales électriques, a été ciblée lors de raids aériens
israéliens, et actuellement la Bande de Gaza, où résident 1.3 millions de
Palestiniens, vire vers une crise humanitaire des plus graves. Gaza est
partiellement dépourvue d'électricité, d'aliments, il n'y a plus de
combustible, et on craint un manque d'eau potable d'ici peu.

Le Canada continue d'être complice de cette attaque, se refusant à
condamner le comportement d'Israël. La semaine dernière, le Canada a voté
contre une résolution du Conseil des droits humains des Nations Unies
condamnant les actions d'Israël dans la Bande de Gaza. Selon Terry
Cormier, représentant du Canada à ce conseil, le texte "porte entièrement
sur Israël en ignorant les préoccupations légitimes de cet état touchant à
sa sécurité". Mais cette invasion n'a rien à voir avec la sécurité
d'Israël. Il ne peut y avoir ni justice ni sécurité jusqu'à ce que
l'occupation cesse.

Le Canada doit condamner les crimes de guerre israéliens, rétablir l'aide
économique au peuple palestinien, et cesser de soutenir un
régime d'apartheid. Nous exigeons qu'Israël cesse immédiatement son
invasion et libère tous les prisonniers politiques palestiniens.
C'est le moment d'agir!

Unis), le ISM (Mouvement de solidarité internationale - Montréal), et la 
Coalition Contre la Deportation des RefugieEs PalestinienNEs.

As the brutal Israeli military invasion continues into the Gaza
strip and has started in southern Lebanon, people in Montreal will take to
 the streets to demand that Israel end its attacks and end the occupation.
 Since this invasion, grotesquely named 'Operation Summer Rain', began  on
June 28, scores of Palestinian men, women, and children have been killed 
in attacks on major cities such as Gaza and Khan Younis.  Civilian 
infrastructure such as power stations has been targeted in Israeli air 
raids, and now the Gaza strip, which is home to over 1.3 million
Palestinians, is on the brink of a major humanitarian crisis.  Much of the
 Strip is without electricity, food.
There is no more fuel, and clean drinking water will soon be in shortage.

Canada continues to be complicit in this attack, failing to condemn
Israel's action.  Last week, Canada voted against a UN Human Rights
Council resolution to condemn Israel's actions in the Gaza strip.  Terry 
Cormier, Canada.s representative to that council, said, "this draft 
resolution focuses almost entirely on Israel while ignoring that
party's legitimate security concerns."  This invasion of the Gaza Strip 
have nothing to do with Israel.s security.  There can be no justice, no 
security for anyone, until the occupation ends.

Canada must condemn Israeli war crimes, restore the financial aid it cut 
to the Palestinian people, and end its support for the Israeli apartheid 
regime.  We demand that Israel immediately halt their invasion, and that 
all Palestinian political prisoners be released.  The time for action is 
now!

This demonstration has been called by Palestinian and Jewish Unity (PAJU),
 the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) of Montreal, and the
Coalition  Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees.
