Solidarity Across Borders has recently organized two small actions in support
of immigrants and refugees, demanding STATUS FOR ALL!

Photos of both actions are available at: http://gallery.cmaq.net/SABnov29

This past December 14, in collaboration with the Human Rights Action Committee
-- a self-organized group of mainly Punjabi refugee claimants -- Solidarity
Across Borders picketed outside the offices of the Immigration and Refugee
Board, to denounce the racism and incompetence of the IRB process.

And, on November 29, the first day of the federal election, SAB members
gathered outside the downtown Montreal offices of Prime Minister Paul Martin,
to push again for a full and inclusive regularization program for all
non-status persons.

The organizing highlight for the year was the No One Is Illegal March on Ottawa
from Montreal (June 18-25), in support of the main Solidarity Across Borders
demands: status for all, an end to deportations and detentions, and the
abolition of security certificates. A short film about the march to Ottawa --
Take Back the Days: Step By Step To Ottawa -- is available at:

PS: Good News! Ahmed Huwarneh, an active member of the Coalition Against the
Deportation of Palestinian Refugees and Solidarity Across Borders, who marched
with us to Ottawa in June, was accepted! This morning (Thursday, December 15),
his Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) was granted. Huwarneh can now stay
without fear of deportation.

For those who don't remember Huwarneh, you can see his photo at:
