Attention: Legs/Lindsay/Jakob, but reference for everyone.
BASIC INFORMATION:
- It's common for non-profits to get licenses, our activities are not
legal until we have a business license
- The non-profit license is cheaper than a for-profit license $2 for
office, $53 for other
- Zoning is the biggest obstacle, if the space is questioned we may be
subject to inspections
- zoning inspection, building inspection, license inspection for safety,
fire etc..
- If zoning ok's it, there is a chance we may get the license same day.
REQUIRED TO APPLY:
- Need photo ID to apply in person
- Letter of authorization for rep, only one person is required to apply
(attached)
- Completed License Application form (attached)
- BC Registries Document is necessary
- Payment (Cash, VISA, Debit, are accepted)
ZONING:
- Depending on how sit in their records, we may be subject to
inspections or not. They said DTES sites are often inspected, so heads up.
Calling zoning now.
